EP Renewal

EP Renewal

EP (Employment Pass) is a work pass issued by the Singapore government to attract more foreign professional and technical talents for new employment. It is also the highest-level work pass issued by Singapore’s Ministry of Manpower. After issuance, applicants have no entry and exit restrictions during their stay, and the permits can be renewed after they have expired, as long as the applicant is still employed.
When to renew You can apply for renewal up to six months before the EP expires. You must apply before the expiry date.

For Employment Pass EP (sponsorship): You can start applying for renewal when you obtain a renewal form by mail three months before the expiration of the pass. Your application needs to reach us at least two months before expiration.
Who can renew the contract Employer or designated employment agency.
The updated EP validity period Up to 3 years. The validity of the new EP is not affected by the validity of the passport.
How much does it cost?
  • S $ 225 each
  • S $ 30 per multiple journey visa (if required)

 
How long does it take Use EP  Online for renewal: within 3 weeks for most cases. 
Mail renewal (for EP sponsorship cases only): within 8 weeks for most cases

note:

  • There is no guarantee that the renewal will be successful. Your application will be evaluated according to current eligibility criteria.
  • Remember to apply for renewal as soon as possible. Early renewal does not mean that you will lose the remaining days in your current pass. The duration of the renewed pass will start when the current pass expires.
  • If you miss the deadline, you need to apply for a new EP.
  • You must apply for renewal using the renewal forms for EP (sponsorship) holders.

How to renew your EP

Log in to EP Online to apply for renewal.

For EP (Sponsorship)

To renew the EP (sponsorship):

  1. Fill out the renewal form.
  2. Collate the supporting documents mentioned in the form.
  3. Mail the completed form and supporting documents to 18 Havelock Road Singapore 059764, Work Pass Division, Ministry of Manpower.
  4. The results will be emailed to the contact person specified in the application.

When can I renew my contract?

You can apply for renewal 6 months (180 days) before the pass expires.

When your EP has been renewed

If the renewal is successful, you:

  1. Will receive an In-Principle Approval ( IPA ). The validity period is three months.
  2. Must follow the instructions in the IPA to get the pass issued.

You must obtain a pass before the IPA or current pass expires, whichever comes first. When the current pass expires, the duration of the pass renewal will begin.

After the release of EP

After the pass is issued, check the notification letter to see:

If the notification letter states Existing card
You will get a new card. It must be returned according to the instructions in the notification letter.
Continue to use the existing card. It must be kept by the EP holder.

Note: If you return it when you don’t need to, you must pay S $60 to replace it later.

If you need to return the card to the Ministry of Manpower (MOM), you can post it to the Work Pass Department of the Ministry of Manpower. You can use EP Online’s “card return” function to tell the staff why the card cannot be returned.

When returning the EP, please do not:

  • Stain, cut or punch holes in the card
  • Attach the card to the letters.
  • Glue multiple cards together.
